Removeable rear fender (mudguard) for track days mod.

Post by tz250w » Fri Jan 07, 2005 5:28 am

Tired of going to the track with your REX and having to remove the street stuff on the rear and still having that ugly black fender sticking out (looks so out of place on the track... )?

This is what I do. Remove four bolts and unplug the harness to the tail light and turn signals. Then I'm done. Well sorta....

It requires you to first remove the entire fender (once, you'll never need to do this again) and cut it in half just before the trunk space. Attach two 90degree angle brackets to line up with the stock mounting points and that's it. You can leave the front portion on and have the battery, CDI unit, voltage regulator and fuel pump mounted up, still have plenty of splash protection and be able to pull off the rear assembly in a few minutes. Not only that, it makes the bike look "race sexy".

Pictures should explain...

OVER doesn't manufacture them now... :(

I had to get mine used on a Japanese auction. Yes, they are hard to find.

It works well with any carb. No TPS circuit...

I think you can modify the Euro model standard CDI to over specs though, have you heard of this?
