Question for you guys that run ignitech ignitions..
Hi guys, I hope you don’t mind me coming here to ask a few questions on ignitech... I know a lot of you run these ignitions on your bikes and there seems to be a lot of knowledge in here! Oh, and we have trellis frames in common
I have two bikes running their ignitions, an air cooled 1000 DS Ducati and a 996 water cooled, both been converted from EFI and now running carburettors. The 1000DS has the V88 and the 996 has V96 versions of ignitech. I have a few questions...
Can the V 88 be re flashed to make it compatible with the V96 software?
Also, how and where do you wire the unit V96 unit so you can switch maps on the fly? I can’t see any reference how to do it and ignitech only supplied a guide for the V88...
Here are a few pictures of my bikes...

Nice bike!
Maybe I should jam my Rotax v990 donk into my old TRX, just for shits and giggles.
In the folder TCIP4/v96/200430a_tcip4_v96_uploader.exe
It tells you what to do when you run the program, pretty simple.
Others more learned in the ways of Ignitech might be able to explain.

I think this is what you are looking for - https://www.ignitech.cz/en/stahnout/uploadCan the V 88 be re flashed to make it compatible with the V96 software?

I'm not sure you can do that. I thought you needed to connect the PC to upload a new map. I might be wrong.how and where do you wire the unit V96 unit so you can switch maps on the fly?

Update to v96 like dicky writes, turn on Map switch for one of the input channels in the unit and connect correct cable to a button or switch.
Done.
However, you need to have two maps configured in the unit to begin with of course. Those are the two you can switch between.

Maybe I should get around to upgrading my units...
I see from the v96 software that you have two advance maps available, and an easy way to change between them.
Why wasn't I told?
I'd post pics of the relevant screens, but... yes, the server is still stuffed.
Under the Misc setup tab, Multifunction Inputs, 2nd advance chart

Thanks... you know what, I completely missed seeing that option! it looks like I will have to just use one map as I use one output for the kill switch, and one for the rev limiter when the stand is down.dicky wrote:Maybe I should get around to upgrading my units...

Kill switch? On the right handlebar? That's not via Ignitech unit, no need to map that up it cuts power the hard way. Unless you've rebuilt the whole wiring of course. Mine works fine, and all I have incoming is Start Limiter. Because I haven't bothered with 2nd Advance map yet or got around to buy a QS.
