Looking at ER6 wheels, they look a lot lighter than TRX standard wheels.

Anybody ever consider using them?

Will measure spacing between discs this weekend. Will prefer fitting wheels only, as opposed to using the forks as well.
Discs are 2 mm larger if I remember correctly. I can grind that off.

Modern wheels are always a good start, have you checked the axle diameters?

Be mindful some R6's have 310mm discs.
If they are 298mm discs , You need to look at the hub width and offset of the disc to see if they will need spacing either the caliper or disc to suit.
you could just use a complete early R6 RSU forks and machine out your yokes and clip ons by 1mm radially for the 43mm cartridge forks with preload plus both comp/rebound settings.
I've modded a 5.5'' rim of a yzf to fit the std swingarm before and no different using an R6 wheel as rim/hub offset is the same as the yzf. 220 mm disc option too and I used a gsxr rear caliper and mount to sort that out.

An ER6 and an UM6 mean the same to me...

I dropped a set of ER6 rims into my 1988 GSXR750 trackbike the other day, so I have a few measurements of the wheels lying around. Yea they are very light. You can expect to drop 2-3 Kg per wheel. Here you go.

Brake disc mounting faces are 131 mm apart.
Uses a 20 mm Shaft. Bearings are 20 ID, 42 OD, 12 THK.

The standard brake disc for these are 300mm, details below:
•Rotor Diameter: 300mm
•Internal Diameter: 80mm
•Thickness: 5.5mm
•Offset: 2.75mm
•Fixing Holes: 5
•Fixing Hole Diameter: 10.6mm
•Fixing Hole Pattern: 100mm

But you have a few options to work with on that bolt pattern. For example I needed 310 discs, so a set from Kawasaki ZX10R 2008-2013 did the job. The oppracing.com website is a very good source of info to check bolt patterns and offsets.

I am happy with the pricing for the wheels and front end as quoted.

The front end is not a problem as I can machine disc mount surface to suit standard TRX forks or space calipers out 1.5mm each. Bearings are available to suit 17mm axle.

Rear end.... not sure about Chain alignment..and need to measure this by the weekend..Rear brake should not be an issue if using complete ER6 setup and add a mounting point for the brace arm.

Is a standard ER6 fork much better than a standard TRX fork (assuming correct fork springs are fitted) ????
If so, then the front end conversion could be even easier.

Added bonus is easy conversion to 520 chain.

The ZX6R RWU forks are very good, you get a full cartridge fork with full adjustment. I fitted a pair to an MZ scorpion and i thought they were brilliant. The std ER6 forks are not going to be a very good starting point. I used RS125 wheels on the Scorpion but they will be too skinny for the TRX.

R6 is a yamaha 600

ER6 rear wheel info:
Distance from wheel CTR to sprocket CTR: 105 mm
Distance from wheel CTR to Brake disc CTR: 78 mm

Rear wheel uses 20 mm axle. Brake disc diameter 220 mm as standard. You can also use a 240 disc from ZR7 750 1999-2003, it has same mounting pattern.

Z750 wheel is a good option if you want to go 180 rear instead of 160.
Z750 rear wheel info:
Distance from wheel CTR to sprocket CTR: 110 mm
Distance from wheel CTR to Brake disc CTR: 94 mm
Rear wheel uses 20 mm axle. Brake disc diameter 240 mm as standard.

I will compare info now. I am going to measure fork length this afternoon. Pretty sure I can use the same Racing springs I have in my TRX in the ER6 forks..
Spring length is good... and they both 41 mm forks. Think YSS emulator I have on order for the TRX is smaller (33.5) than the one the ER6 uses (36) ?? (but it does not make sense)

I cant race with USD forks......so will stay RSU for now. Also want to go lightest wheels for least money.

TZ 250 F&R rims work as well and give you the option of 5, 5.25 or 5.5" rear rim.
No problem with period if that is an issue with scrutenerring.
Uses the same disc as the TRX and 3 spoke look plus axles aren't an issue either.

Not sure about the TZ thing...cant tie up info...
ER6 sprocket is 2mm - max 3mm out of alignment. Brake disc is a fair amount closer to centre of hub (20mm +) but it should be manageable.

ER6 will have thinner wall fork legs. TZ wheels will be around £700 a pair used
