done the usual search and I cant find it, but I am certain there was a thread on here years ago about whats involved fitting an Aprilia rsv1000 mille into the TRX.

anyone got any information or links?

we are currently weighing up the options of breaking my dads mille R to provide parts for the trx - which will be ohlins forks, shock, yokes, swingarm, steering damper, brakes and OZ wheels. It would really finish the bike off if we could pull it off.

ac@39 is you're man (maybe others have tried?) I was contemplating a similar mash-up with that Tuono I had, chopped it for a Fireblade instead.

I didn't realise there had to be cutting and welding. not really an option for me.

I thought someone did it with some shaving of the trx cradle?

Same guy. He'd some smart ideas and wasn't afraid to experiment with Aprilia bits on his TRX

It was YZF suspension and swingarm, the only Aprilia bits used were coils and rear bodywork...unless he's built a new one of course. Only TRX I've seen with RSV bits on is the grey one in the Nertherlands? All the other similar looking types have used modern Yamaha gear with fabrication skills required for all types.

Yep, I was wrong again - it was YZF suspensers with Aprilia arse end - sorry

There was a guy turboing his TRX on here and he had a mille swing arm on his bike

I thought it would have been Yoosey that had the Aprilia rear arm on his Rex.
Plenty of engineering tho.
Like my VFRrear, the shock pivot link is on the left side of the rear swing underside centreline..
Generally with these conversions, the left side or the sprocket side of the donor swing arm is left alone and the right side is cut, narrowed and then re welded.
Wheel centering is obviously crucial to whole shebang, as is the sprockets alignment and the shock pivot link.
A big deterrent to most attempting.
The Yamaha R6 banana rear has been done too.

i have a later swing arm from a tuono that i've modded to fit and yes loads of work..(if you can weld alluminium would save you a bunch of cash)
i had the tube on swingarm that holds the swingarm bolt cut off the trx and then welded onto the aprilia swing arm, i've had the aprilia shock mounting cut out and the trx welded in.
all sorts of knock on effects as then had to modify engine brace top shock mount to accept chosen rear shock (zx10) i've had to use yzf 750 lower shock pivot with trx dogbones to set ride height.
i couldnt see my way around the gearing issue so have opted for an offset front sprocket.

you will have to space out the rearsets and the down pipes need modding too

frame has been painted now and tank/plastics went in yesterday so get to put it all back together soon. in theory all should be good from the dry build ,, whoooooosh there goes theory and i may even get to ride it!!

that sounds like a whole load of shit I cant be bothered to deal with!
