GEARBOX, possibly six speed?

2nd gear ( 1.941 ) is the only common gear in the YZF750 gearboxes between the std YZF750R 6 speed and 750SP C/R gears.


I've Listed below the std YZF750R gears just for a little more general data..
1st...2.462 ------ 2nd...1.941 ------ 3rd....1.632 ------ 4th.....1.435 ----- 5th......1.300----- 6th.....1.190

If you search in the forum database mince, I'm sure I listed the 6 speed yzf750r , yzf750sp & tdm900 ratios and gears with the TRX 5 speed to compare against when I was researching fitting the 6 speed in my bike.

oof! that sounds like a massive amount of work.

I have a 6 speed box in mine (TDM900 engine) and on track I only use 5. The bikes not powerful enough to utilize 6th. Its nice on the road mind when you are on the motorways, although I find that 70mph has a bit of a vibration going on which makes my hands go numb. 80mph is smooth as silk.

for info my bike has a tdm900 engine with 1 tooth up on the rear sprocket.

I'm not surprised when you look at the ratios on the TDM900

1st....2.75 --- 2nd....1.9474 --- 3rd....1.5455 --- 4th....1.24 --- 5th...1.04 --- 6....0.923

5th gear on your TDM is much like 5th ( top gear) on the TRX

TDM 4th gear ratio live central between the STD YZF750R 5th and 6 th gear...

Use 2nd and 3rd are ballpark to the SP so just get mince to make up a higher 1st and closer 4th 5th and 6th.

The trx gears actual share the same ratio on 1st gear as the 750sp but that's as far as it goes..

1st...2.5714 --- 2nd...1.85 --- 3rd...1.4286 --- 4th...1.1739 --- 5th...1.037

FZR 1000 and YZF1000R thunders are interchangeable with the YZF 750 gears.
