Did a little damage on the track day and chamfered the bottom edge on my oil pump cover and was left with some nice scrapes but didn't punch a hole through it.
Cleaned any dirt n grease from the case and a final wipe down with isopropyl alcohol to start.
This morning I used JB weld in the form of a 2 part putty stick.
Took a tiny piece off the end, and kneaded it together, then worked it into the engine case.
It began to harden within a couple of minutes and had set hard as a rock within a couple of hrs so early tonight I used some wet n dry and got the shape back on the case.

Re: Damaged engine case repair
Epoxy putty is good stuff as long as the area is well prepped and oil n grease free. it`s sometimes a little fragile in high heat zones but generally hangs in most places.

Re: Damaged engine case repair
Never used it before Mince and was going to use normal automotive bog repair.
Just didn't have any and this was in the tool box for any emergency repairs to keep me mobile.
Coat of paint later in the week and soon see how long it lasts.
The spare silver case I do have is just too nice to molest and spray black.

Good grief, thats a blast from the past...Belzona, I haven't seen that since 1970 when I used it to make an emergency repair to a Mini Cooper gearbox.Back then it seemed almost magical stuff,Belzona Molecular Systems-brilliant.
