This worked well for me so I thought I'd share it.

The modification simply involves cutting a thin strip from aluminium sheet and forming it to a "C" ring to effectively increase the radius of the throttle 'pulley'.

I used 1.2mm aluminium which reduced my throttle action to 45 degrees. This is pretty extreme but works well enough. Great in hard cornering. The trick I'm finding with a throttle this short is to slow my own action at lower engine speeds as it tends to crack things wide open a little too soon.

I did similar last year only I glued a piece of plastic drain pipe to it, it looks like the plastic one being a bit thicker will provide a slit lay quicker action. It's on my build thread somewhere

So much easier to ride I found with a shorter action and riding in traffic is not a drama. By the time you finish your first days riding you should have adjusted to the shorter action.
It's really noticeable coming off the front brake into a corner then on the throttle again with a nice transition from one action to the next without screwing your wrist right around.
I tracked down a 06 R6 throttle set up for about $10 from a wreckers . 1/6 th ( 60* ) action..

Mines around a quarter turn to full throttle.

With the stock throttle to get 100% from a closed throttle I either had to have an arm like Mr Tickle or have two goes at it.

you may find it's better if you make it a bit longer and file a location tab into each end to locate in the cable end slots, decreases any chance of it moving and jamming in the casing joint.

It prompted me to have a look at mine and mine may not be the stock throttle.

From closed to open I rotate the grip 45degrees. So I am wondering what is the range of motion in stock?

Might have to have a go at this for the track bike.

From memory the trx is around the 80 degree mark.
The yzf 750 was a 90.
I know the trx was not as far as 90 degrees .
Are you sure it 45 degrees?? That's a pretty short action..
Some earlier R1 and R6 actions are in the mid 70's
