Good look Neil.
I had no grazing at all, apart from a 20mm diameter `scuff` where the top of my ankle brace rubbed by inner calf. You must have slid some, what were you wearing? Those fingers will stop you mining nose goblins for a while mate.

Yes mate I found it was like having a stranger at the dunger! Never mind, back to right hand duties now, my collar bone is real good, a tad niggly with discomfort at times but much better. If I can drive the Scandinavian biker bus over the weekend I`m going back to work next week, albeit not to stand at machines for 8 hrs + a day.

Re: Cafe racer rebuild and restoration.
LOL. Don't care much for fashion anyhow.
It was supposed to be a 5mins trip to a friends place so was wearing t-shirt and shorts but had the sense at least to wear gloves.
Funny thing is that the worst injuries are the concussion, broken bones and fingers none of which would have been less with more gear. Of course the hand would have been a mess with out gloves.
So I spoke to the cops again today about the crash location, it is different from what I thought and so I am now totally confused why it happened.
The place is along a slight curve in an 80km/hr zone of which I wasn't close to speeding and as I came over a slight crest the bike started fishtailing and threw me off.
Now I am thinking of something mechanical like brake or engine lockup or an animal running out.
I haven't seen the bike yet but I need to check it out.
This is quite intriguing now

Re: Cafe racer rebuild and restoration.
Guzzi you say?
Hmmm you might have hit a false neutral and torque reaction kicked in as you `found` another gear. Yep, could have been an animal, I ran over a Jack Russel terrier that ran across the road in front of me at night, didn`t see the dog at all but the bike bucked into the air and I nearly lost control. Because me and my mates had been underage drinking we kept going. I went back the next day along the same road and found the dead dog.
I wasn`t `togged-up` in body armour etc when I was slapped into the road, it likely wouldn`t have made much difference had I been though. I`m not the full leathers, camel back type of biker anyway.

Re: Cafe racer rebuild and restoration.
jack russell... ah animals.. bastards of things. My last accident in 2001 was hitting a big kangaroo running across the road at 130km/hr. I remember that on very clearly as it was only a month after a 3year rebuild of my yellow guzzi. Another month and it was back on the road in its final current state. I made a few revisions to its styling.
False neutrals are only there when you treat the gearbox like a japper. Once you condition yourself to hold the lever in position for a fraction of a second longer, you never get a false neutral. Just the way the older ones work.
The one in question my most recent procurement has a second generation gearbox and the false neutral (so far from the smallest of ride experience) isnt there, but its now habitual for me to change gear like i was on a guzzi on every bike i ride.

Wow Neil, that hooks a novel way for the hospital stopping you from wiping your arse or picking your nose to keep the wound clean..
I'd hate to go to that hospital with a sexual related problem.

It will look good on your resume too.
