What to do with a spare motor...
Anyone tried putting a trx motor into fzr400???

It should go. Front rear balance would be my concern.

I looked at this a while back when I had a loose TRX engine and a spare 3TJ frame, and I think it has been done although I can't find anything on t'interweb. I do remember seeing a TDM850 engine in a 3TJ frame 'unfinished project' doing the rounds a few years ago though.

You need to relocate the oil tank or make a new fuel tank and cut/move the rear engine mounts. I also think the web at the front under the headstock needs to be removed or trimmed back by quite a lot- the TRX engine is a lot taller than the 400 (and the 600) engine. I haven't looked at doing it with a 1WG frame.

It'd make a brilliant bike but I don't know if it'd be worth the hassle.

Stick it in a XT660 frame and build the XTZ850 the big brother of the 750!!

I figured height, rear mount and oil tank may be an issue..
I was actually looking at a Bimota YA7 to place it in and it would be sacraligious to chop that frame up.
