Do front and rear wheels from a YZF750 fit straight onto the TRX850, if so what is the benefit of fitting them?

No. Different axle sizes.

No advantage with YZF wheel over the trx.

The YZF rear tyre is a 180 on a 5.5inch whilst the Trx is a 5 inch rim and a 160. Having had both I don't believe that the 180 gave and tangible benefit.

180 tyre will cost more than a 160 but is more common.

Yzf 750 rear hub is 5mm wider too so you need to machine the clutch hub down to get you in the ballpark and apart from bearing change / crush tube and a touch more machining to accommodate the 1mm wider bearing and a new wheel spacer too.
I fitted one a while ago after having the work done at by a m/c engineering company. Udaysen now has the wheel and is fitting it to his other Trx.

Very happy with Yzf swing arm and 180 power3 setup hence the 180 from Brian. Looking forward to the second bike on the 180. Was annoyed with the 180 metzeler as the bike would not tip into corners at all. Having ridden Brian's bike now with the light wheels, it was extremely corner happy even in the short burst I had.

YZF rim is 180 section and looks better. plus more easily available scrubs if you want race rubber. Front blts straight in, rears as above.

IMO, a 160 handles better and is lighter. I never had any grip issues with a 160 (tuned bike on track)

nah the the front axles are different, and the speedo drives, of course. 17mm on the TRX, 22mm on the YZF750

I saw some on ebay, I'll think I'll stick with the standard for the track bike. Thanks guys for confirming though.

I was running 170 rears on track and road . So a happy medium and still fit on the 5" rim without deforming the tyre like a 180 will on the 5" rim.
