Just acquired a 2012 R1 front end that I plan to graft on later in the year and wondered if anybody has fitted late model R1 forks?
Any tips or advice gratefully received.

I've yet to make up an axle to accept the TRX front wheel, but it'll happen soonish.
In the meantime, I'm running a GPS for the speedo.

Revalve to suit the trx and respring to suit your weight.
May as well do it right first time and get the full benifits of your investment..
I'm pretty sure the 2010 R1 trees are 25mm offset and the trx 30mm.
They also run possibly run a 310mm discs from memory so just look into what ever wheel choice you go for can accomidate the disc size ..

Lovely job on your bike Dave. Cobba, They do run 310mm discs but I thought they ran the same offset. I'm gathering parts at the moment and intend to have the forks reworked to suit my jelly-belly.

I think you'll find the r1 disc for that model has no offset and larger centre diameter but the hub width would be different to a Trx.
If you choose a Trx wheel some gsxr discs may have the same pattern and 310mm with an offset to do the job.. but prob easier just going with a matching R1 wheel tho as axle size and bearing match can be another drama. If you change bearing size you will have to make a crush tube between bearings inside the hub ..

I'll just add for information sake for those reading, with a radial brake set up compared to a vertically mounted calliper you don't have the option to space or machine the caliper to suit the disc offset if using a different wheel too.
I had to machine a couple of mm off my bluespots with my 99 R1 set up to fit the xjr wheel but with with the Trx wheel beforehand I actually had to space the caliper a couple of mm.
So the only real option with the radial caliper is to space the disc mounts to suit and find a disc, offset close to work with.

I have 2006 r6 complete front end with wheel. Has to be revalved etc but still works well over stock even the way it is. I prefer to keep things simple and uncomplicated. An acewell speedo is fine as long as set up correctly.
