If you lift the front of the tank there is a bracket bolted to it which in turn attatches to the frame mounts. If you remove the bracket there is a rectangular plate with 2 holes in it which sits against the anti vibration rubber. If you make another plate to the same pattern but in the thickness you want to raise the tank by & refix with the original plate still intact it will raise the front of the tank when refitted. This will in turn increase the flow of air under the tank (rather than trying to force it thru little holes in the airbox!)

to save install time, did you perhaps keep a drawing of the plate with dimensions?

It does make a difference as it happens (but not much as you suggest). As does ripping the foam off the outside of the standard airbox.

I take it all this is proven on the dyno?

Is that a true reflection of the effects given that the bike is effectively in still air, and on the road you will have a 100mph wind pushing into the undertake area?

yep - seen it with my own eyes

And most dynos (in fact all that I've seen) have an effing great big fan to mimick the ram air effect

To echo what Phuk is saying - the dyno i use has a forced air fan to give the effect of moving airflow. I've only ever used one dyno so that results are consistant for measuring gains as they can vary hugely from one dyno to another.
