The bigbore won't give that much in BHP, around 2 would be a fair guess. But again, with a well flowing head, a big bore makes more, with standard less. As with cams, only cams are not worth that much, but together with a wellshaped inlets, it can produce much more BHP. And it also depends on what type of work that has been done, decreased and re-shaped inlets, or just opened up inlets, produces different engine character, and the cams have to match the character...philk wrote:What about, without the big bore?phuk72 wrote:cams, gas flow etc & big bore kit is worth about another 10

Don't know anyone whose dyno'd a motor with FCRs/full system/cams/headjob but on a standard sized 850 motor so difficult to say, but Hans is probably right:
Standard motor does about 76bhp.
My motor (41 FCRs, full system, foam filters) does about 90bhp.
Phuks motor (all the above plus cams, headjob, overbore) does about 100bhp
Overbore is probably worth 3-5bhp ??
This is my dyno chart (red line: run through gears, blue line: top gear roll-on)......

Dave.

Biggest benefit from the big bore is additional torque - the outright power gains are probably only 5bhp max.
Gas flowing is a serious matter and needs to be done proprly by someone who understands what they are doing, what pwoer characteristics you want from the bike and what other mods you have done.
I've always been told cams without flowing is a waste of time.

dyno'd "No.7" last week and she kicked out a claimed 79.1 bhp. they were happy with me fuel/air ratio etc etc and i left it alone at at that. 1999 TDM 850, s/steel Devil downpoipes, 2-2 road legal carbon cans, k&n filter. Me mates TDM 850 fitted with TDM 900 barrells, pistols, and conrods, mildly ported head, K&N filter, and 2-2 carbon cans made around 83bhp.

They are available now!LozLul wrote: To cut long story short, I just received an email from BR special tuning in UK with an offer. So, if you are interested in a pair of brand new FCR's you might want to read this. And I know, the price is not as low as some of the US vendors offer, but it seems that there is not that many TRX/TDM specific carbs left over the big pond. Well, at least I could not find any.
Here is a link to their Keihin website.
That's all folks.
