10w40 semi synch, Shell Advance if I remember correctly and for bikes yes ;)! The only thing is the oil level is on the higher side of things at the moment but not the first time for the Rex to be like that and has never been an issue before...

Really confused about the bite point being so far down the lever release and that slip in all in gears after riding a few miles! :?

Mate... I reckon its all cable adjustment.
Follow the cable down from the lever, check that it is attached to the frame where it should be.
There is a lug on the frame just before the clutch, where the cable slides into a hook affair thingy, if the cable is loose at that point it could be where you have lost some adjustment.
Or maybe not.

I think it's the oil, flushed it and replaced with some good old Halfords... Definitely improved things but I ran into other issues before I got to properly setup the clutch cable adjustment!

Gutted I'm missing out on these few weeks of British summer!

Back on the clutch issue

What is the recommended clutch srping length for the TRX? The ones that came with the EBC kit are 51mm length and have a feeling they might be a tad short (& can't get my hands on the old ones! #-o )

Cheers
A

according to the manual they should be 55mm free length with a wear limit of 53mm, so that sounds like they are short. I have the originals at home on the bench so i could measure them when i get home tonight, but i did measure them originaly and they were in spec.

Odd that they'd send the wrong size. I'll get those changed and see what happens! [-o<

EBC springs aren't necessarily the same as OEM, I bought some for my CB250 and found they were about 33% longer than standard! They didn't make any difference either..

Update-, Just been and measured original springs which were 55mm. The uprated springs that i tried next were 53mm, not sure what length the springs in the kevlar kit were as i didn't measure them before i fitted them. It will get a proper test on saturday on the trip to Cadwell.

Just been on track day at Anglesey and the Kevlar clutch has definitely fixed my slipping.
Are you sorted yet?

Finaly time in the last month or so that I have found the time to go out for a test ride  and the clutch slip now seems to be resolved :D

Did a bit of a speed test too and in 5th, I get 6000rpm when at 100mph and around 7500rpm at approx 125mph... Seems high rpm to speed to me but haven't ridden much this year so maybe that's right! Are you guys getting similar stats? (Gearing is one tooth down at the front sprocket)
