small update:

I had a bit time on the bike over the Easter weekend. I got a fair bit of stuff done, however nothing that looks any good in photos!
I tacked on the various brackets and lugs to mount the rear plastics, drilled and tapped them, then welded the whole lot up properly.
I am not the neatest welder but I know its strong, just requires a little dressing up with the grinder

So the rear plastics fit and bolt up now, as well as the seat.

I have a set of R6 5 spoke wheels now to go on the bike, Kayla is sorting me out spacers for them.

Finally I made myself a DIY quick throttle - half turn to max throttle. I always thought the standard turn of the throttles on most bikes are way too long, my fazer included. so here it is:




Next job on the cards is to create a torque arm for the R6 rear caliper (why do I give myself these jobs) then start on the wiring.

will get some proper pics up shortly.

I have also ordered one of Kayla's 2 into 1 exhausts, a new chain and sprockets, and I am going to be trialing some new rearsets shortly

and tonight I have made myself a torque arm for the R6 rear caliper, which doesnt have one as standard - its designed to key into a slot on the swing arm.




I am thinking about making a panel up to go under the seat, something like this:


that should allow me to hide the battery box and protect all the relays etc underneath the seat.

My main concern with this is that the caliper will be pushing on that bit of ali, I think it would be strong enough under tension but not compresion. MTCW

You cannot adapt the trx arm, perhaps a plate attached to the arm and the caliper.

I am confident its way strong enough.

I could hardly bend it at all, and by comparison the standard torque arm completely collapsed under less pressure. The pics don't really do it justice, its very substantial and looks too big for application, but I don't mind that.

The options for this are limited. the standard torque arm location is out because the R6 caliper is mounted on the top not underneath. I may try and make something a little more pretty but that is fine as far as I am concerned.

besides I only ever use the back brake when I am stood at traffic lights!

I was also thinking along big Al's lines Coxy- tension copes better than compression, especially when yer backing it in.....

Tension is not an option I am afraid. The best I can do is go beefy on the compression.

I have never backed anything in Al, however there's a first time for everything
