em i hav some blue dots calipers on my bike alredy on thundercat forks are they ok to use??
if i do go ahead and use standard trx wheel etc, uno were can get the bits to make it fit boths,spacers etc
and would the r1 clip ons be suitable?

We can make the parts here but we'd need the R1 forks and yokes to work with, or a local engineering company could also do the work. You can't buy the parts 'off the shelf', so to speak, because there are too many ways to fit the parts together. It's easier to do each job as it crops up.

Blue (and gold) spots are interchangeable and will fit most Yams with 100mm bolt spacing axial calipers.

Would the R1 clip-ons be suitable for what?

I have a pair of mirror polished R1 clip ons if you are after some and those Thundercat forks, are they in good condition, what will be happening to them?

yep they am in mint condition ad them stripped down and re painted wid spacers only recently did it but fancy r1 usds now
also be wheel,brand new wavy discs too how much for clip ons

Hi buddy - for what its worth i'm building my "special" trx now (ready for summer ) & this is what i've just done to get the r1 forks fitted:
fitted trx steering stem in the lower r1 fork yoke(needs to be welded & m/c'd back or knurled will do). used the trx front wheel & trx wheel spindle as wanted to keep the mechanical speedo drive & then no prob's with brg's etc & matching design wheels. tig welded a lug on the l/h fork leg for the speedo peg. machined i/s left fork leg to centralise wheel. machined a bush of interference fit to slide onto trx wheel spindle to match bore in r/h fork leg which also acted as spacer to centralise wheel. bush was machined to fit into the l/h fork leg to reduce bore to match the diameter of the trx spindle. threaded insert (external/internal) in l/h fork leg to match the smaller thread of the trx wheel spindle. bike already had blue spot calipers so no probs there. original ign switch can be used on the r1 top yokes jus need to machine some spacers to lower the switch so flush with top yoke(enough material in the switch mounting holes to open these out to match the centers on the r1 top yoke). machined a "top hat" reducing bush to reduce the diameter of the r1 top yoke to match the smaller diameter of the trx strg spindle. got hold of some cheap universal multi-adjustable 50mm clip-ons.
i think that was about it...after i dont know how many hrs altering everything - rear subframe cut & welded for modified bodywork, fitting universal rearsets, exhaust etc etc etc! i've now got bike almost stripped down for powder coating...ahh happy days.

Doing all this does change rake/trial & slight increase in wheel base but have raised the rear end slightly to help compensate & as i'm not fitting the yzf750 rear swing arm & hence wider rear tyre hoping bike will still turn in nicely...we'll av to see about that 1 though

Did the same as Yellowjb

Used 2003 R1 fork and Calipers. With standard TRX wheel. After a lot of measuring I thought I needed spacers for the Calipers.
But after testing it turned out I did no need them.

Dis dome test runs with it before the Winter kicked in It works fine.
Withe TRX swing and rear wheel but with longer shock.

Can wait for spring to give it a proper go.

I was thinking 45 quid posted for the clip-ons, they`re already highly polished.
What about that complete blundercat front end, how much you after for it?

Know I'm off topic here a bit but............... , what is the advantage of the Thundercat forks over the standard TRX? I tried search but couldn't find an answer. You do gain compression dampening. What else is better?
