FCR41 fitting

Post by SDN » Fri Mar 16, 2012 6:45 pm

Hi all,

just had a look at fitting the FCR41's. I need different throttle cable, so have ordered a universal one from Venhils, also carb rubbers have asked for a price on a pair of SR26 manifolds from Allens as they look to have the dimensions I want, can anyone confirm whether this is correct?

Any other tricky stuff I need to look out for?

Just need the big bore exhaust headers and a trip to the dyno. Hope fuel consumption doesn't go too wild?

Have got the clocks in bits awaitng the new white dials, I sent a scan of my originals and newtacho in Germany have made a set of white faced dials in MPH, which should look quite trick

Check out this thread and the links within it SDN:

Fuel consumption does suffer somewhat, the induction roar is severely addictive!

Edit:

Just had a look and the OE part number for the inlet rubbers is: 3LD-13597-01
Allens are not likely to supply the wrong ones, they know their stuff. By the way SDN you`ll need to bore those rubbers through to match diameters as they are 38 mm. For others here`s Allens listings:

When fitting my FCR´s i used the old cables and just bought some nipples (they have another name i guess, and stank will comment!!)
When fitting new rubbers (stank will comment here as well), see to it you dremel (or other) them out to 41mm as they are 38mm.
Also have a look at the stubs from the head so they take 41mm....you really want a 41mm tract all thru....

FYI the cable set that came with my kit is a motionpro set for a yzf750/fzr1000, part number 021-293. Perfection :)
