Breather in oil tank?

Is there one?

On the 900 setup there is a breather that connects the top of the oil tank to the crank case. I can understand why this would be, as the oil runs into the engine from the tank there is going to be a vacuum created in the tank, and pressure in the crank case.

the pressure in the crank case isn't going to be an issue for me on the 900 motor as the lump is going run positive crank case ventilation, just wondered if the 850 had a similar link between the crank case and the oil tank?

The reason I ask this is that I have had to chop off the breather from the oil tank as it fouls the frame. If its necessary I will fit a new one, or maybe just stick a one way vent valve on it. I could even just drill a tiny pin hole in the oil filler cap!

Yes, there's a breather from the crank to the oil tank, I know because I blocked it off unintentionally & blew the sight glass out of the oil tank

I expect the 900 has something similar, I know the oil tank from the TDM850 is the same as the TRX, apart from the filler.

Yes, there's one from the crankcase that vents into the oil tank.

As i´m working with industrial printers i´ve been giving vacuum ejector some thought....taken from the pressurized air at speed...what your thoughts??

Eliminate/minimize blow-by, probably it´s enough just open the motor up (check thread in bike racing forum)
After some research i´ve found out that duc has had a big ass hole in the crankcases since way back.

...and you´ll make more power up top according to them who tried it (only really two in here)
