Maybe the compression adjusters are in place of the damper rod bolt at the bottom of the fork. Tihis would leave it covered by the axle when assembled, but DUCATI ST2 & SS900 had a hole through the axle to allow access so drilling the TRX axle would work

Now with 140,000 on the clocks, X-mas tree didn't kill it & I still love it.

You may be right. They could have the compression adjuster going through the bolt that secures the bottom of the cartridge, after all, thats where the compression piston/shims are, hmmmmmmmmm.
Once a TRX lover, always a TRX lover.
