Slimmer coolant reservoir..

Post by [JP] » Sat Mar 31, 2007 4:10 pm

Don´t know if I´m posting on the correct area, but I hope so..

Let´s see if I can explain my issue here..
As you know I have a race rear unit on the TRX, which means is a single piece, so when I need to remove it, it´s quite a pain, and there´s already a crack near the brake light due to the fact of trying to "open" the panels to slide it out..

I hope the picture helps to understand what´s happening...
under the unit, on the right side, sits the coolant reservoir, this is a bit "fat" which means I have to open the panels to take the unit off...
what I was looking to do is to get a slimmer reservoir, that way the unit can just simply slide up without the need to force the panels...

Image

does anyone know if there´s a slimmer unit from other bike that I can use?
and if it will be a problem to fit a smaller reservoir?

thanks!!

I've got an aftermarket race stylee one on my TRX. It's mounted inside the fairing; but there's no reason you couldn't get one and fit it inside the seat unit on yours... They're about £15-00 from memory....

is it possible to fit a smaller one from say.. some sort of 250cc (in australia the ZZR250 is plentiful for spares).. they would be small im guessing, and possible to adapt ?

but go with honkys suggestion as he has already got it sorted so it seems :)

Anything will work... Mine is the little bottle zip tied to the side of the frame it was covered by the R6 cowling for the race and I was too lazy to move it when I put the street stuff back on. You could easily hide it inside the front fairing. Just keep an eye on your coolant level every now and then.

after looking up what a Italjet Dragster scooter actually looks like. ive decided i dont want one, they might infect me with that uglyness they seem to ooze everywhere.. they look like smashed crabs on a hot day.. just wrong.

I have a similar problem

I've got an SV650 rear end on mine, and don't want the reservoir to be visible. still looking for something that'll fit.
