Back to your bike, looks damn good. Lot of hard work gone on there, swingarm is a beaut, like the blue too. Wheels, forks, bodywork all work well and look the dogs, but...
... don't think the white works at all with it, too much of it on the tail.
... and with hindsight, would you have gone for a silver frame?

Re: TRX 2 - The tuned 850 one!
in hindsight I would have had a lot less white on the tail yes, my idea was to have it all blue apart from 2 white panels on the hump a la ducati SP designation. However its my dads bike so he gets the final say. although he now agrees. I think having the extra white on the fairing balances it out though.trixynut wrote:Back to your bike, looks damn good. I like the black frame though I wouldn't change that.
We are having some problems with the carbs, in that they don't like holding their fuel. A new seal kit will be on the way shortly.

Nope I think you definitely have me confused with someone else - neither my dad nor I have ever owned an Mz Skorpion!Mincehead wrote:I visited years ago, to pick up something destined to go into a skip.

I really like it but the pipe looks a bit unspectacular maybe an old M1 style stubby carbon can would suit?

Did I mention before that Litetek do Viton seals for FCRs? http://www.litetek.co/Carb_Kit_Keihin_FCR.htmlcoxylaad wrote:in hindsight I would have had a lot less white on the tail yes, my idea was to have it all blue apart from 2 white panels on the hump a la ducati SP designation. But I seem to recognise the garage, how odd. Wait a minute I think the name was Paul and it was in the lake district somewhere, well I apologise, the alzheimers is getting worse!coxylaad wrote:Nope I think you definitely have me confused with someone else - neither my dad nor I have ever owned an Mz Skorpion!Mincehead wrote:I visited years ago, to pick up something destined to go into a skip.

Easy mistake to make - a lot of these northern English garages look so alikeMincehead wrote:But I seem to recognise the garage, how odd. Re: TRX 2 - The tuned 850 one!
its true. the north is filled with garages crammed with bikes and other mechanical shite we can play with.
anyways some updates:
got it running tonight and holding its own petrol. I have to say it looks frikkin awesome in its current state!
so it runs but its backfiring on tickover, I suspect its over fueling a bit, but its also lean bogging when I open the throttle sharp, so I suspect the throttle pump needs a little fine tuning.
Lean bog and popping on tick over
First fire up

Re: TRX 2 - The tuned 850 one!
I am being utterly bone idle here, but can someone point me in the direction of a repository for ignitech maps.
I need a map for an 850 engine with:
kent cams
ported head
878 pistons
41mm FCR's with blue trumpet bell mouths.
also what are peoples thoughts on airboxes? this bike didnt come with one and clear had been run without one

Re: TRX 2 - The tuned 850 one!
It all depends on the porting done, exhaust used, choice of air intake/ cam timing and the actual compression of the motor and jetting choice and what they have tuned the motor for.
Dyno time is easy because it's not motor related just simple runs with a quick alterations to mapping to find your improvements.
Build yourself up a couple of 10 point maps (no tps) and save them and simple do a run with the std map then load another map with 2degrees advance and then the next with 2 degrees retarded and compare all 3 to see where you get gains and losses.
This should only take 10-15minutes dyno time and can be done at the end of the day.
Good chance you'll find a dyno guy who will do it for a carton of grog.
Look at your fueling first, torque and HP curves.
Sort out your fueling if needed first of all.
Then look at gains and losses between all 3 maps and build another couple of maps from there.
Took me about 1/2 dozen dyno sessions at $30 each session doing an A-B test with 2 ignition modules to get it close to where I am now.
