I enjoyed that :D

Please don't think I'm sucking granny's eggs but here's a wee tip - if you're not going to get a clean pass on the bike in front then instead of using an overtaking line and not seeing it through, use the whole track and jump the bastard at the next bend cos you'll be carrying more speed to nab them

If you're losing shitloads on the brakes then try a millisecond of light lever squeezing to load the suspenders, then squeeze them hard - dunno, it might work for you

I used to be quite fast at Croft in a Renault Laguna in TOCA Touring Car Championship on my PC and Microsoft steering wheel!

all advice gratefully received!

i need to be more decisive with my overtakes, it was easier in the inters group as I was travelling a fair bit faster in the end, in the fast the speed difference generally is not that big.

if you look really closely at this corner:

I decide I am going for an over take on my mate on the white bike, bail out and slam the brakes on, back end felt really loose (more more than the vid shows!) and my mate just shot round the outside!

i think I need to stay on the throttle a fraction long and brake bit harder. the problem I am having is I am gripping the bars so tight its making the bike very twitchy and difficult to control. not sure why but i cant seem to maintain a light grip on the bars.

In that particular clip there's a little bit too much time between coming off the throttle and the brake coming on. also, before that, your mate takes a bad line through the previous right hander - that should be your cue to get on his tail and nick him on the anchors. Try to relax on the bars a bit or you'll end up with muscle pump in the arms - the worst time I experienced that was gripping too tight through Tornagrough bends at Dundrod in Norn Ireland and getting complete hand cramp spasms in my left hand down into the Hairpin - thankfully it wasn't my braking hand! The instant cure for it was to drag my hand off the left 'bar and slap it on the tank a few times on the short stretch down to Flowbog Crossroads to help the circulation, where it was fine til next lap before the Hairpin - by lap 3 I'd realised that I had to relax cos Tornagrough was my best overtaking part of the circuit and I was tensing up in anticipation! It's amazing how yer brain multitasks in these circumstances!!

All said and done, it's easy for keyboard warriors to type up a load o' shite from their cumfy chair

spot on Alan, most corners I roll off the throttle before applying the brakes, I am trying to keep it smooth, obviously I am taking it a bit far!

yes I saw he had mucked his line up, and hes on a 750 too, I probably did exactly what you just said and got excited and tensed up

There's definitely something to work on as I wanted to press a button on my left hand handle bar during a session and I couldn't physically take my hand off the bar!

I spent last night in the garage sat on the bike moving left to right, right to left, trying to keep as little weight on the bars as possible. see if I can sort out the muscle memory.

Maybe you're gripping it too hard during your night time activities, can you change hands without missing a stroke?
