Is it just transport on the island or do you need transport on the mainland too?

I'm guessing the hire company realised you'd be there for the TT :(

I'll message the guys with local knowledge to see if they can point you in the right direction.

I can think of a couple of other car hire firms, I'll have a look in the yellow pages when I get home...

Athol Car Hire
http://www.athol.co.im

Ocean ford
http://www.oceanford.com

I'm not aware of any companies here offering motorcycle rental.

Oh, on a side note, forget the buses, they're going on strike. Fantastic! :(

Hi guys , this seems to be turning into farse. We are going to support their economy , paid in advance. Retrunded money no e/ mail nothing . If his the level of tourist support that the IOM TT & local bussiness have to us. I am extremely disapointed. I thank you for your help guys. I will tell you who the hire car company is so as not to deal with them.It look,s like we will take a car out of heathrow & take it over.
Thanks for all your help.
Regards
John c

Hi John,
rant away as much as you want we all know what it's like, but one thing you need before committing yourself to hiring a car in England is have you booked a car place on the I.O.M ferry as they will be running out of space by now.
Hope everything works out well for you but if you need anymore info just ask on the forum.

Hi there, I feel your pain mate - we booked our hire car for this years
TT in June last year - we were also advised a couple of weeks ago that
our booking was now 'unconfirmed' (this was with IOM Hirecars) We did
a mad panic ring around & got a car sorted last week through Athol Hirecars
for the first couple of days then Mylcreests for the rest of the week - whew !!
Good luck - hope you get something sorted.

Andy

Hi Andy,
It looks like it has sorted itself out as the home stay my nephew is staying at have said they will fix something up, hope so. If you see a baldy headed guy around the circuit with an aussie umbrella hat that will be my nephew Jef we won't be far away. So give a yell if you see him. Have a great trip.
