Thieving Pricks.
Knowing where Sherlock lives, they sound like pros.
Elevated house site, houses all around, definitely targeted and definitely not random.
(Whats a high end mtb?) Don't worry, I think Ive got it.

He had an OVER system on his bike too from memory so not something you see on your every day TRX or on e bay.. Keep an eye out if you see one for sale...

Thanks for your thoughts guys. Yes, it was a nasty surprise. Woken in the middle of the night by one of my daughters in tears. Thankfully they only targeted the bikes, as there were 3 young women in the house alone at the time. Seems one of the boyfriends tipped off some mates...too targeted, too quiet. They got my Rex, the BMW K12GT, two helmets, two midrange TREK racing bikes @ $5k each to replace and a MounTainBike (MTB, Ash.)
I'm back 24 hours and have one scrote in custody and MAY have the TRX back.
I arrived home @ dawn yesterday and had Cobba on the phone by lunchtime asking me to check a link on Gumtrees (a Trading Post type site) 3 TRX's for sale, one of them mine. The Plod's had actioned a warrant by sunset recovered the bike and charged the miscreant. Unfortunately it will be 'receiving stolen property' which carries a slap on the wrist here. He will claim a mate down the pub asked him to sell it for him and that he can't remember his last name......
The Plod claim that the Rex is undamaged (the keys were in the garage) but they have painted the frame VIN and damaged the engine number - not sure that I want it back now as it will be unsaleable. Would you buy a bike with the engine number and vin plate dodgy?
The Beemer has been spotted at a B&E as a neighbour got the rego number.
Now to do the rounds of Cash Converters for the pushies.
elementary my dear.....

Well that's some good news at least!

Well done Cobba
As for keeping the bike ... depends if you want to sell it any time soon ... plus there are plenty of potential buyers on the forum who would know the story if/when you ever came to sell it. Also depends on what it does to your insurance costs.

that's just awful, I hope they're all ok.

Sorry to hear, happy the police did something though. When my car got stolen I had to steal it back by myself as the police wouldn't send anyone round to get it for me.
I guess you could Nitromors the vin paint and people swap engines all the time so I wouldn't worry to much about engine number.

I feel for you mate.
I have had this happen to me in the past as well. I was also away and the bikes were stolen while the rest of the family were home. Did get one of my bikes back, but it is a long, long project (ongoing) to get it back the way it was.
