Found a bike I like but being new to these I dunno what questions to ask or what to look for on the bike...
Advice please!
All I have been told is it uses oil but I read this is common on these

There's been a few threads over the years asking the same thing ... have a wander round the forum and read up a bit Maybe post a little more on this thread such as what condition the bike's in, mileage, etc

Like Jak says, search the forum.
Presuming you know about bikes generally (checking brakes, discs, tyres, chain, head bearings, fork stanchions and seals, shock etc all the usual wear n tear bits) then ask owner about his oil level checking method ti see if he knows how to do it proper so it doesnt run low.
More info on the bike would help...

Is there a buyers guide, I must of missed it as that would be really helpful

Service history would be a good starting point.

There's no 'buying guide' as such, but a lot of threads have been posted asking the same as you ... have a look through the various forums, or use the search function (top right) to see what you can find. A couple I found were:

Also have a good look through the tech tips threads to see what other people are doing with theirs and the problems they've found.

Well I bought it and all seems okay for the money!
Only real issue is the clutch is stiff, would a new cable sort this or is it new basket time?
It needs bodywork as its been dropped so I'l on the hunt for a new faring also
apart from the above I'm a happy bunny and cant wait to get out on it
