Please can anyone tell me firstly if a 1993 TDM850 engine will fit into my trx frame and if so will i need to do any mods? i have also noticed that later engines have a different oil tank on top of the engine, does this matter?. also what if any difference will the TDM engine have that will be different to the TRX (gearing, gears etc).
cheers
mark

Re: WILL IT FIT?
Sorry Mark, forgot I had been asked this in a pm from you!

I believe (folks correct me if I`m wrong), that the 1993 TDM is a 360 degree crank?
I also believe you`ll need to use a TRX head on the TDM motor to line up with frame to engine mounting points and that `some` modification may have to be done to the oil tank to enable you to fit the 93 TDM motor into the TRX frame.
Those earlier TDM`s had stonking bottom end power, the 360 degree crank, both pistons rise and fall together but only one fires per revolution, didn`t make the BHP of the later 270 degree versions though.
Now me and TDM`s are not overly familier so if I`ve got any of that wrong I fully expect to be corrected.
