I'll update this thread as and when any information is available

(thanks to Dee for the link to the news story)

It's horrible to read of any biker losing his life - my thoughts are with his family/friends.

Latest update (thanks Dee) ... http://www.getreading.co.uk/news/s/2081 ... _bath_road

Bloody car drivers

The rider was a 37yo man from Theale

One of the news articles lists it as a red & black TRX, although the others say black.

The rider has been named as Stephen Winstanley, 37 of Station Road, Theale.

I don't believe he's a member here, but I can't be 100% sure.

Sad news :(

:( It is always sad when someone loses a life, a person we don't know or have ever met. What brings it closer to home, is that he was a biker, and also a TRX owner. We may never know who's fault it was or why it happened.
For some it doesn't end there, they then have to break the news to the next of kin as well, collate all the evidence behind it and attend the coroners court to hear a verdict as to who, what, when, where, why, and how!
C'est la vie as the French would say.

Ride safe

The report of the court case has appeared in the local press. I thought you might want to see the article...

That sentence is a fuk'n joke

And the reporting isn't much better. I can't help but think that a number of non bikers will read that and think "well, if he hadn't been speeding!"

just saw on my news here in perth that someone led the police on a high speed chase in the UK with a helicopter capturing all the action. Doesn't say if anyone was killed but the footage didnt look like it. He got 16mths jail.
There are people getting jail time for looting.

So how come this person who kills a person, whether its an accident or not, gets nothing??
man o man whats the world coming too!
