G'day all.
I would really like to put the girl on a diet. I would very much like to hear some ideas on the best way to shed the kilo's.
any input, no matter how silly or expensive you may think it might be will be welcomed. I figure this might be a more cost effective and satisfying way to increase perfomance.

I suppose aftermarket silencers would drop quite a bit for starters. A nice Akrapovic 2-1 in titanium would do wonders. Remove the pillion/can hangers and replace them with simple alloy hangers for the cans. You could get a single seat unit which would let you chop the excess off the subframe. Take the lights off and go daytime-only. Lighter wheels would be nice but are ££££££££

Wavy discs
are actually lighter than the standard ones, it's not just a gimmick. Change the non-load bearing bolts for alloy ones (and drill them too

) Change the clocks over for a Vapor dash as the standard clocks are quite beefy, and then you could remove the instrument wiring too. Remove the speedo drive and have an alloy spacer knocked up, and while you're at it, get an alloy fairing bracket too. Are blue spots lighter than the standard calipers?
I don't know how much it's possible to remove, but it'd be nice to shed 20kg
Oh, and just out of curiosity... How heavy are you?

I know the best way is for the fleshy part to loose weight, Im working on that! Im 90kg (down from 100) so I am probably at a disadvantage to other riders off the cuff. Some great ideas so far, but I do need to keep it road legal! That means lights have to stay. Has anyboy ever fitted small projector style (Buellish) lights to a racing fairing?
Im off to Japan in a month, so I will get cracking when I return.....to be continued (keep the ideas coming)

Just weighed myself in kilos (what are they anyway?) I weigh 12 stone in clothes! thats about my fighting weight which is about 75 of those bags of pasta or snails or whatever they are. Not bad for an old un.

I'm 65kg. I was 65kg when I was 18. Now 50. So the weight's the same but flab is lighter than muscle...

Hmmmm....I think I need to clarify something. I am not absolutely flabulas! I just happen to be a gentleman with a larger frame than some. (I have been a loose forward fo most of my rugby days) I am never going to weigh less than 90kg without looking like a bullemic basketballer. Just thought I might clear this up

Drill holes in your regulator/rectifier.

.................And drill holes in the Front sprocket cover, remove plastic inner cover, remove underseat tray, cut back rear mudguard. drill holes in fairing. Smaller battery can also be fitted. remove mirrors, indicators and change the front light for a smaller unit.
That should keep you busy for a bit!

Bollox to all that - just tune it
That said, I've now run out of tuning potential (if I want to retain any reliability) and have done the obvious weight saving (you will not believe how much the standard body work and exhast system weighs).
