mismatched silencers

I've got a trx with different silencers fitted.
they are both genuine yam trx items and are stamped up the same
but on one the final rear baffle(the bit you can see inside the chrome tail piece)
is slightly longer than the other and with only a visual check seem a smidgin smaller diameter.
They definately have a different sound to each other.
I've not run it properly yet, only had it warming up on the driveway after a full nut and
bolt engine rebuild.
My question is will they make any difference to the way it runs ? i'm concerned about one cylinder
maybe running hotter than the other.
has anyone any thoughts on this.

Hmm, AFAIK there weren't any changes to the TRX during its world production run. But perhaps one of the cans is from the '95 JDM model, which has a bunch of detail differences?
I'm just speculating here, but I would point out that OEM silencers are so restrictive, you're not going to have a meaningful flow difference. Plus, as I understand it, TRXs run absolutely stinking rich from the factory, so there's no possible way you could go too lean by having a slightly less bunged up can on one pipe.

My advice - junk the standard cans (or tear out the internals) and free up some power / noise. You can't own a twin with standard cans.
You'll also save a load of weight (my complete race system weighs less than a standard can!)
BTW, one cylinder runs hotter than the other as standard - nothing to worry about

H\y col how are things.
leave it till after you go for compliance, they will go over it with a fine tooth comb, dont give them any reason to fail it. then do what phuk said and gut them, just be careful in town as the fun stopers will jump all over you.

could you not get around the vht as it is personal property???? I thought you were able to get around it if you signed a statement to say that you would not sell it for a year and if ou did it would then be payable.
