Yamaha TRX850 Enthusiasts Forum

My father raced a black TRX850 in the Sound of Thunder series in the UK a 4/5 years ago (part of the New Era bike club). He then went on to race in forgoten Era with 70/80's 2 strokes etc. He has stopped racing now and has some great TRX850 gear for sale to fund his new hobby (sailing), some of which he has just started listing.

At the moment he has a couple of race fairings and two single seat cowls for sale, plus race cams from the Australian Vee Two firm. He may also sell PFM brake callipers / short track discs and a full titanium exhaust system plus many other great spares and parts if these sell well, so it could be worth saving his seller profile.

I told him it would be great to see these items find homes via a dedicated forum like the TRX850 forum. The fairings alone would make a great project or have simple track day potential. The single seat units would suit a single seat street bike project -- no storage, but they look awsome.

These are all genuine TRX850 race parts (used primarily at Mallory Park in club racing) -- used, but inexpensive.

I´ve already made a remark in the selling part of this forum on the cams so i guess most of us already seen it. Put them other items up here and tell us what you want for it, i´m sure there will be takers.

I'll try and get a list of the better bits he has--but in general he raced 2 bikes, wrecked the engine and frame in one at Mallory (so ended up with lots of spares ontop of the ones he collected alog the way). When he stopped racing the TRX and moved to 2 stroke yamaha 350's he put the good TRX back on the road (with a few selected bits like the PFM calipers and discs) and put everything else into storage.

There should be a selection of good condition road parts (taken off before racing the bikes) and lots of race bits. I think he has a full exhaust system in titanium from Over Racing (two into one from memory) that is in good condition (he didn't use it for racing, but a friend of his also had a TRX850 race bike -- it came off that in good condition, but given that he already had a race exhaust witha really great note, and he was never a chance for a win when racing 996 Ducati and TL1000 fully tuned race bikes, he just ran the bike for fun - it was a real crowd pleaser as it sounded like a low flying B52 on a mission.

Let me know if there was something in particular you might want and I'll ask him if he has it. A guy has already emailed about FCR carbs and I'm pretty sure he's going to be in luck if the money works (cabs, cables, throttle and jet kit if he wants them).
