what are choices for fairings ?

Its looking like i aint gonna find a decent standard fairing for the trx.
I you know of any aftermarket ones let me know who makes em.
I kinda like the endurance style ones.
I thought i'd see what else would work.
when i look at the stock fairing all i see is a TZ250 top fairing with a hole in it.
so has anyone tried a TZ or any other model race fairing on their trx.
I dont want to go down the R1/6 route as i dont think they suit the rest of the bikes lines.
if you've any pics with "other" fairings on i'd be intersted to see em.

If anyones fitted the endurance style fairing, does the single headlight fit onto the standard mounting frame
or do you get a different mount when you buy em?

Skidmarx make a replacement fairing. Glenshiel make them too, but they may only be race fairings with no headlamp (not sure).

Pferrer make the loveliest and any discerning owner would, of course, fit one. They make them with or without indicator mounts, and in race (no headlamp), standard headlamp and single or double headlamp endurance stylee.

The endurance style headlamp unit is fitted to the inside of the fairing, not on the headlamp bracket. But the fairing mounts on the bracket anyway, so you still need one, unless you're going to make your own mount.

Harris also produced endurance style fairings (a la trixynut). Don't know if you can still get them. Their headlamp mounting is different to Pferrer's.

There are various others too - Diopa, Heru, Poly26........mostly French and German.

well I've always found that Skidmarx stuff is pretty shit tbh but I was pleasantly surpised by the quality of the seat unit they sent me.

If you want quality then Pferrer are very good. the Poly26 stuff is supposed to be pretty thin too.

I like your way of thinking. are there any size issues. those things are made for midigts (no offence) Will it fit on the trx????

You'd be suprised how big the pukka race fairings are. compared to road stuff they are huge.
I've seen a honda rs250 fairing on a kawasaki kr-1s and the fairing was way to big for it.
The kr-1s is smaller than an rgv250 and while the same style rs250 fairing fits the rgv a lot better
it still looks ever so slightly to big.
Most people think 250 gp bikes are tiny but the yamaha tzr250 3xv model shares a frame and engine components
with the tz250 race bike and while it will be a little taller due to road suspension it isnt that much different.

I own 3XV TZR and a TRX (obviously) and I'm pretty sure you'd have more luck getting a quiet f*ck off a chicken than making the fairing fit a TRX.... Don't let me put you off trying though! :D

the tz has a much bigger fairing than a 3xv.
The tz model has a lot moe depth to it and can be raised to suit ( i hope)

But is it wide enough?

I'm thinking it ct could be spplit at the bellypan and widened a touch to clear the pipes and cases.
I've got a kr-1s fairing on the way that i will try up, if it looks like it might go with a bit of modding
i'll look into a tz jobbie.
