had fuel issues on friday night,
story as follows,
first tank of fuel. wanted to find out how much mileage i could get.
got to 211kms and the bike stopped. changed over to reserve and had couldnt get nothing.
anyway went the petrol station got a can of petrol, filled up the bike
and on my way.
the problem i had was it was very slugglish and when i twisted the throttle there was no kick as per normal
so to cut short this story
the brother in law and my self took apart the bike eg.
air box (cleaned out all bugs and what not)
took apart the carbies and resprayed them with WD40
changed the spark plugs (what a bitch, replaced both)
found that the throttle cable had only 2 strands left that where connected.
went to my local second parts place and tried to find another throttle cable. couldnt find one but the guys replaced the damaged cable with a new one for $25.00
put back all together, and purring like a cat.
all is good.
the finishing touch i placed on my plastic crash knobs
from doing the above items, i would really recommended to use the haynes TRX850 work manual
it helped alot. (diagrams for pulling apart and putting together the carby)
