Hi dixonj!
Good idea to celebrate a TRX anniversary - but as far as I remember, 1996 was the year our beloved TRiXie was officially shipped to Europe.
That said, why not celebrate two years, the "birth year" so to say and the year of being officially available over here?!
And the festivity you mentioned would be a reason for my first visit to the UK - what's a 1.300 km
ride if you can meet other TRX riders?!
"Maybe planning something similar on the continent next year" - greets from Munich!

It's a bit far for me to go, but I hope you get a good turnout.
I should try and organise something in Oz.

Re: Trx 30 year anniversary meet.
I was there 2 years ago with the Jampots[1] (though I was on the R100GS PD[2]).
I asked Sammy how long the warranty is on his motorcycle frames. My uncle has a Bultaco Sherpa with an SM frame from 1972 and it's bent. He said no, shocking lack of customer service.
I might have to take my Trixie[3] over, I'm not sure how I will fare with the ride, she keeps telling me I am too fat to ride.

... in Munich.
But it's looking good - quite some TRiXies there!
And the Sammy Miller museum surely is an amazing place for such an anniversary!
A little envious greets from Munich!

Nope not me nah ah. I wasn't there
Though if I were there, I might have won a prize in the raffle of a signed photo of the Kensei Sato of Over Racing, who built the Daytona winning bike for Alan Catchcart.
