Most members online ....

Post by pbear62 » Mon Nov 22, 2021 3:14 pm

Hi guys,

I've just seen that the most users online at one time was 705 members on Sunday June 6th 2021.

What happened then? What did I miss?

There's never normally more than about 10 members on here at a time .....

Cheers, Andy

Hmmm, can't remember a special event / theme on here this year that would've caused such an amount of members gathering here.

Do we have that many, anyway?

Questionable greets from Munich!

Pretty sure its an anomaly caused by search engine crawlers.
I doubt that there has ever been more than a dozen actual members online at any one time since Max started this whole thing.
The site currently has 6614 registered members and is still growing, albeit much slower than it used too.

More or less active greets from Munich!

Where are all the TRXers gone ...?

Maybe a revival of the "TRX of the month" contest would help?

Doubting greets from Munich!

A lot of us have grown too old to be comfortable on a TRX.
I can't ride mine for long before I feel like I need a long hot bath.
For many of the very active early members the TRX was a great base to build their own customized bike on, and once they were done they moved on to something else.
The renewed interest in the TRX over the past five years or so has seen a lot of new members join, but they never post, so I assume they are all hanging out on CJ, sorry I meant FB, with all the other cool kids.
The fact that many parts of the forum are broken and have been for years doesn't help to make it the buzzing hive of activity that it once was. (maybe that was just my tinnitus)

Those three letters will make a resurgence again one day soon and maybe again on 2 wheels.
First TRX I had on 2 wheels was in 1978 and a set on Tange TRX forks on my Mongoose BMX with tuff wheels. 8) 8)
Datsun took it to another level in 1982 with their Bluebird and then 13 yrs on Yamaha picked up the iconic TRX label.
From memory the TRX stood for Twin sports with the SRX being the Single sports.
Project 005 was its name within the walls of Yamahas R&D dept. and the label I’ll place on the white trx if I ever get to finish the cosmetics...
Oddly enough Lin Jarvis who was head of Yamahas marketing Dept had the great idea of letting Over Racing in through the back door to Yamahas race division to produce a satellite TRX race bike and give it to a journalist to race for the season and yes, the rest is history...

THE TRX DOES IT ALL, it’s like owning multiple bikes, whatever the ride, whatever your mood, it will make the ride a pleasure.Bring the formula back to the showrooms Yamaha.

I've tried owning other bikes but nothing else suits me as much as my TRX

Yes, for the "real" enthusiasts, nothing compares to the TRX.
I have also tried other motorbikes, owned a RSV Mille for the race track one season, rode a 675 Daytona - nice bikes but the feeling on the TRX is better!

But where are these enthusiasts in the last months, or better, years?

Has the TRX community really become that small?

Hmm, better quality than quantity (?) greets from Munich!

There are lots of TRX's still out there in the UK at least, go to a bike meet of a decent size and there will probably be one or two (owned by old blokes usually who struggle to fit their belly between the tank and the bumstop!). But they don't seem to come to the forum, for some reason. It's a shame because without this place how are they going to know that they've put the bike back together wrongly and the yokes are supposed to be dropped down the forks?? I see this so often
'95 4NX with K&N filter, Motad Venom cans, YSS PD valves, Ohlins fork springs, 530 C+S, Green CDI, 11/16 radial master cylinder, +30mm jack up dog bones. Enjoyable money pit.
