Helle, I like the TRX and I like to buy one. Are there points of attention like favourable years or technical issues in that respect?

I appreciate your advice or link to a related topic

Hi

Oil consumption is the key thing to ask for... if the guys knows how to check his oil level (dry sump), it’s a good sign. Also check the rear foot peg mounts as the frame has a tendency to rot around there

Otherwise, just do the usual checks as you would with any other bike.

Many thank Drix,

Is there no significant difference in the earlier or later types, other then the electronic dash?

Gr. Dad

They never came with an electronic (digital?) dash..

Bikes from 1997 onwards have better/longer lived inlet valves and supposedly better gearboxes which, as a 1995 owner, I can believe because mine is really quite bad. Some say the gearboxes improved again from 1999, and there were rumours that the very last ones from 2000 came with the same carbs as the R1s from the same time but I think that has now been debunked as a myth?
