Checked valve clearence. Last time was february 2007, and there's been another owner between. One valve needs adjusting, moved 5/100 in 11 years/20000 km's.

Awesome. Was thinking about checking valve clearances again the other day (last time was 3 years ago), but might procrastinate another year or two , rides good feels good, don't fix what isn't broken right.
1996 TRX, Front end from a 2006 GSXR 750, Seat off a 2012 Triumph street triple. TDMR carbs, Laser cans, Perreli Rosso Supercorsas.

Something like that!PrfctChaos wrote:Awesome. Was thinking about checking valve clearances again the other day (last time was 3 years ago), but might procrastinate another year or two , rides good feels good, don't fix what isn't broken right.
Not much else to see here. Carbs got new mains and pilots from my 6Sigma-kit and did I a visual syncronisation just because I can't take measurements at the moment. Visible difference though so should definitively be better. Sent the triple's on their way. Well, to the work shop for some bore. Need to check with my pal how that worked out btw. Damn, even an uncomplicated bike like the 'Rex has a bunch of parts that needs to go somewhere while fiddling...
Oh, almost forgot. Got the TRX some dyno time come spring by lending my van out to a friend. Yay!
Hmm, turned out to a full evening this.

Santa came early for me....
Picked up a set of thundercat forks for the white TRX and will drop them off at MPE suspension to have rebuilt and 0.9 springs and gold valves fitted on compression and rebound circuits.
Still waiting on throttle cables so I can fit the TDMR’s.
Braided lines arrived and now just waiting for the DP sintered pads to show up.
Front end will be sorted after Xmas and Ohlins rear is on order too.

Nothing. Did nothing to the bike today, as the last few days or weeks. Starting to feel uncomfortable with the lack of progress. So nothing actually equals spraying cam cover black. Because red does not mate well with polar green.

But red cam covers are the fastest??
The past two days have seen me strip the front brake master cylinder, clear out all the gunge (it was always there, I think the previous owner used DOT5..), replace the brake light switch and put it all back together again. All better now, with a lever that doesn't seem to change its free play on a whim!

'95 4NX with K&N filter, Motad Venom cans, YSS PD valves, Ohlins fork springs, 530 C+S, Green CDI, 11/16 radial master cylinder, +30mm jack up dog bones. Enjoyable money pit.

Wrapped header pipes with black exhaust wrap!! Looks great! Will see how well it stands up to use. Also re-installed original end cans. Would post a pic here but says forum has reached limit...

Re: What did you do to your TRX today?
Fitted the new-ish front end. Almost.
Forgot the fact that R6 triples up to -04 are 5 mm wider than the TRX so spacers from R6 won't fit... Bummer. Everything else seems to work: Stock triples with R6 fork legs, R1 brakes and newer R6 front wheel & axle.
Oh well, something for another day to shave 2.5 mm off of each spacer then.
43 mm bore:
Fork in place, needs height adjustment
... and the wheel without spacers

Does it still run a 298mm disc??
Can you weigh the wheels to get a difference in weight please.

Re: What did you do to your TRX today?
I'm running the R6 disc, should be 295 or 298 I've not measured just checked numbers online. Wheels f/r are 11.2/12.5 kilo with discs and rubber. I think I have them without rubber somewhere but couldn't find those numbers.
That's with Supercorsas. Stock 0.5/0.9 kg heavier with same but narrower 160 rear.
Edit: Found numbers on rear R6 rim, 6.5 kg with disc and bearings. No carrier or sprocket.

Nice, I'm looking forward to seeing this front end build finished
If it's not made in China, it's a fake!

Fitted a set of TDMR 40’s and TRC rearsets to the white TRX to compliment the Over exhaust. Currently running Ignitech 10 point map.
Next task will be changing the pins on the TPS and turning it on and calibrating in the IGNITECH program. The TDMR’s run the TPS on the RHS of the throttle shaft so turns opposite to std.

I just made some quick drawings for the new TRX/R6 spacers and sent to a pal, hopefully I'll get the parts back before the season begins...
