Facebook TRX groups
There are currently two big Facebook groups catering to TRX owners that I am a member of.
One is invite only and has a lot of this forum members in it, the other is open but seems to have the same members.
I notice a lot of questions asked in these groups that have already been dealt with in this forum in great detail.
Should we nudge these FB guys to this site, or just let them stew in their own ignorance thinking that FB knows all (it does know all about you, but it's knowledge of TRX's only goes back a few years)

Re: Facebook TRX groups
I'm new to this whole TRX thing, but am in the process of much fettling of a '97 vintage green one.
How does one go about getting invited to the 'invite-only' groups?

Re: Facebook TRX groups
I wouldn't bother. There is nothing on the FB group that has not been dealt with in greater detail in here.
If you really want to join you just send a msg to the group owner.

Great data base on the forum and easily accessed via the search too.
Well done to all who keep it up and running.
Social media like Facebook is good if you want to stroke your ego or troll and stir the pot like what hand do you wipe your arse with.

Re: Facebook TRX groups
Max set up the "open" FB group and passed it on to me along with the forum. Personally I don't use FB much at all so I rarely go there but I suppose nowadays it's the first choice for a lot of people. Someone on the FB group didn't know there was a forum so I guess it's a good place to advertise "us". Given the time I've just spent on the forum I'm glad it's still used!!!!!
This forum is (and will remain) free of advertising

Re: Facebook TRX groups
Hi guys, new on the forum after getting 2 TRX's and then struggling to access the forum.
I am on both FB groups and there are generally the same questions, but nice pics of bikes.
The forum looks much more informative.

Re: Facebook TRX groups
Welcome to the forum.
There is so much information in here that most of us have forgotten it.
If it could be, should be, or needed to be done to a TRX, there is a thread in here about it.

Re: Facebook TRX groups
the facebook pages seem more like an enormous show everyone a picture of your bike thread. we have one of those already.
Its hard for any meaningful content to be posted on there as its within a week its gone forever.
I check forum posts on here going back to the dawn of time when I need information

Re: Facebook TRX groups
Just a word about signing up to the forum, seeing as how we are getting an influx from FB.
If the new user has a normal user name, such a Jacko, Dave85, Norm B. etc, it'll get approved.
There are on average 50 new signups each day, the vast majority (ie. all of them most days) which are spam accounts.
They are usually easy to identify as the usernames are shitty, crap like Lovesex69, DevonB, etc.
So, to get approved, don't use a weird username, use spaces between words, and never, ever use an email address from .ru
