Not sure if they ship to Oz, but I use Fowlers in the UK for Yamaha parts as they have a handy online store with parts browsing. I found the prices same as any other Yamaha UK dealer
http://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/
Prices might be good until they get adjusted with the brexit/UKP devaluation thing.

Other than that there's a couple good german sites for 2nd hand, 3rd party or specialist parts (mainly carbs)

Projection Racing 2-1 with Akropovic hex carbon can, Keihin FCRs @ 150 main, R6 shock conversion, 520 chain conversion, Ignitech ignition, Li-po battery. Further weight reduction & front suspension in progress ....

Thanks for that, I'll give them a go. Although I'm amazed that no one else buys new parts in Europe  I play the dollar game and buy from where ever the best exchange rate is,
For example a new connecting rod is
$495 aust in Australia from Yamaha
$185 aust in the US from partshark
$124 aust from a German supplier
$107 aust from Fowlers UK
?? in Japan (price still coming)

Even with postage it pays to hunt around!
If it's not made in China, it's a fake!

Also looking to the UK for parts at the moment. With the pound weak (and likely to stay weak) its a good opportunity to upgrade the rear shock

Things just to be mindful of when buying overseas for those that may not know...
Is the price a total price that may include any taxes that may need to be paid after purchase and before leaving from overseas.
Japan has an 8% and the U.K. has a 10% VAT on items.

10% tax is applied on goods entering into Australia above the $1000 threshold at this end too.
Exchange rates are taken from when the item enters the country so if you purchase something close to the $1000 threshold it's best to just leave a yourself a Little headroom under $1000 threshold to allow for any fluctuations in the exchange rate.
You may have paid $990 Aust after VAT and the exchange rate applied but if the Aust$$$ looses ground by 1c as such by the time it enters the country ,Your at the $1000 threshold and 10% tax applies.
Plus you have to pay a $98 admin fee from customs too so a total of $1198 instead of $990 if the currency exchange stays stable or gains.

Great advice  I've never been caught myself, but know someone that has 8-[

Thanks for the tip Cobba,

Currently looking at the a Nitron NTR 3 shock (adjustable for preload, rebound, high and low comp). Comes in at £547.49 ex vat plus postage, so the ex vat value will be bout AU$930. I presume the value is calculated on what I paid and doesn't include postage.

Other option is to go for the NTR 2 which does not have separate high and low compression adjustment, just one compression and come in at £481.66 which is AU$820 ex vat plus postage

postage is AU$95

Postage is not included on overall taxable amount but just make sure they list the shipping cost and item cost on the receipt so they can note the item price is under the threshold even though the overall amount may be over $1000.
