I've been digging and searching to find the thread on here that has the outline of the trx because I'm looking into colour schemes at present. I was thinking on the Marlboro TRX but theres a few of them out there now.
I even printed off a few of the TRX outlines a few yrs ago and be buggered if I can find where I put them...
The Tec 3 Yamaha scheme has always been a bit of a personal favourite for me and the link above has a bit of a take on a morden speed block which I want to explore a little more. Just getting it to work with the shape of the cosmetics may be a challenge.

I have been thinking along similar lines since deciding to make this bike a track bike. I find the half fairing really challenging for a good scheme, good chance I'll change it to a full fairing.
I wonder what are good candidate kits for closest fit / easiest bracketry mods given the narrowness of the TRX - another parallel twin like ER650/SV650, a triple (Daytona 675)? I suppose an inline four is getting a bit too wide.
Scheme I favour would be based on the anniversary speedblock but does need a full fairing to make it work.

Projection Racing 2-1 with Akropovic hex carbon can, Keihin FCRs @ 150 main, R6 shock conversion, 520 chain conversion, Ignitech ignition, Li-po battery. Further weight reduction & front suspension in progress ....

Yes I tried cutting out a format in yellow on black but just wouldn't get it to conform with the shape of the trx cosmetics.
No stress, but looking for something just a little different.
I've got a few ideas with the good old original std Yamaha black cosmetics with carbon hugger and front guard but now with a black motor and frame. I'll follow the silver and gold trim that is already there.
Maybe an 878 sp silver decal on the fairing to break up the front mass, possibly the yamaha stamped into the clutch cover in silver and I don't mind how Conrod polished the edge of the fins on the head on his black motor.
Maybe a silver radiator???
So a few options to explore...
I'll put the tank on and good tail I have tomorrow and see how things look.

Now I can see the comparision of the black motor compared to the silver and with a few other slight alterations to the tail.
I may spray it silver again as it's only a few hrs work to drop the motor.
I'll get her running first and when it comes to re tensioning the head, It's easier to do and check clearances out of the frame.

Ok got plenty of options where I may go with it now,
Little bit of alfoil on the motor fins and grey tape on the frame gives me a good feel for this scheme.
I'll just have to paint the frame again...
MMmmm maybe silver motor and frame but with the black swinger and sub frame

Hmmm, I think painting the frame and rear sprocket in pale gold to match the forks would be good with the black motor. A little bit JPS but not too much.

Yes Highlander, I pondered that too .
But I'd repaint or anodise a lot more of the silver bits including the tank but I'm trying to keep the trx cosmetics and original paintwork and looking more for a factory special that might have been..

Yes thats what I was going for, mine has changed a bit since this picture but you get the idea, has the fins you are considering

Perfect Paul,
I was searching for a photo of your bike to look at the polished fin aspect.
Good to compare against with the alloy look swing arm too.
I settled on polishing the 4 fins in line with the exhaust and contemplated placing 4 silver stripes on the sump or maybe silver cam cover and the top section of the sump.
But it's not a V twin .
Anyone know if I can polish the titanium can to remove the marks with a 1200 wet n dry or will it loose it's titanium dull silver finish.??

2 minute job with a bit of silver gaff to get the idea on how the colour scheme will work.
A lot easier the sitting in front of a monitor clicking buttons for 20 min..
And you can view at different angles , light, and backgrounds.
