Problem at constant speed

Post by thhastrup » Sat Mar 26, 2016 8:40 pm

Hi
When I get the engine up to normal working tempeture, it feels like the bike is running low on fuel at a constant speed of around 80 - 100 km/h. You know just before you have to switch to reserve fuel. Other than that the bike behaves perfect. I have the ignitech, K&N filter and another exhaust. Ignitech map is what it came with, and I haven't done anything with the carburetors. Help please....:-)

Most likley the carburettors.
I'd be fitting one of the carb kits as a base start remedy,..
I have had or done the other mods you've suggested with no issues.
You would need to add your location in your side ID box as that will let us know where you are on the globe.

Thanks, would that be a stage (ex. 1) kit og just a rebuild kit?

We use the keyster brand kit here..it's a full kit at around $100 Aud for the two kits to service both carbs.
They are listed on our Australia E-bay at the moment.
Easy to fit in too

You can also order a rebuild kit from Kedo

no - VAT paid already in Germany.

If you are pricing for outside EU then you should not be paying EU cost as the VAT should not be on it.

I had similar problem, reason was my self made holes ( 2 x 20 mm) in airbox. I taped them and she runs now nice.
I have open cans, ignitech and no mods in carbs.

My first guess would be worn emulsion tubes in the carbs. They oval out over time, and the needle can't meter the fuel properly as it effectively lets way more fuel past the taper of the needle. Hold them up to the light it'll usually be pretty obvious.
