First Ride = 01/11/14

So I picked up my Ebay "bargain" today from Romford, Essex, around 50 miles from home. It had been stood for 2 years, but the guy put an MOT on it (after I sent him a battery). £85 quid a year for fully comp insurance was less than it cost to tax the bugger. She's a bit shabby but the bodywork (blue) was fine, need to clean the engine, forks, shock etc but it's been looked after in it's day, there are receipts for fork and shock work and even a dyno chart (10 years old) showing 77.5bhp so not too shabby.

Given it has been stood, the brakes were wank and it needed choke for a while. Front end felt vague, but that engine - what a peach. Coming over the Dartford Crossing in top gear and just burbling though traffic was quality. It sounds boring, but the ride was no drama, I love the way it pulls so smoothly through to the redline and beyond. I had a Firestorm previously and the TRX had all the good qualities (torque) and a nice, civilised manner. Once the brakes are sorted and I'm confident all the bearings are squared away it's going to be ace to ride. It's a Yamaha, and I feel right at home on it, far more than the bigger Honda. The noise is uncannily like a V-Twin, that big bang firing order really captures the V sound without the maintenance hassle.

Can't wait to tweak it and put my stamp on what I can see is a real keeper. At £795 I reckon it's a steal.

Congrats on grabbing a bargain and a project for the winter. It's the simple things in life. Getting from A to B with a grin a mile wide. Doesn't get any better than that. =D>

Sounds like your right at home with your TRX already.
£795 sounds like a good deal. A lot better than the £3900 on the Trx someone posted a link to earlier today.
Your trx is a Smart buy in my eyes. =D> =D>
Imagine the sort of Trx you would have if you had another £3000 to spend on it. 8) 8)
