new toy

Post by Meak » Mon Mar 31, 2014 9:58 am

Well i picked up a 97 TRX Red/Black on saturday, the trip home was 80 miles 0f smiling, wow they are fun
sadly not without troubles, the speedo stopped after 44 miles, on arrival home i found the outer cable had come loose and the inner had escaped.

left fork seal leaking, even though the dealer said they had replaced them for the m.o.t. waiting reply.

i still had a load of fun though, i see the future bringing more fun with the TRX,

ride safe Meak

The cable was installed upside down, one end of the INNER has a small brass collar, it goes to the speedo ..
That way it won't drop out if the lower is un coupled.
Happened to me as well once  .

Looks tidy , and pretty standard :)
Where is 'home' btw ?
Rubber side down, Red side up is my preferred riding style.

She has 17k,
with a couple of age related marks two small dints in the tank. and pulls like a twin should. intoxicating.
been a looong time since i rode a TRX, can i sneak a Q in here  :)

do they all sound/feel like they are running on one cylinder when at low revs twist and pull pretty hard, when running on a neutral throttle there is i very slight surging

Take care

Nice looking beastie, my favourite colour, just like mine apart from the belly pan ..... 17K though #-o

Only jokin... mine is at just over 5K & as it came out the shop, same tyres aswell, so getting some stick for that (quite rightly).

Should add, I keep all my stuff in tip top condition, the TRX is mollycoddled, oiled up & garaged during winter, bought it new in Aug 97.

Below is the car I have owned for the last 31 years, so the TRX is in safe hands....... :)

Nice car, Wooly, i had two Cav,s saloon n hatch, does your fuel pump gasket leak oil, as both mine did, i ran them into the ground and the grim reaper called them to the scrap yard,

hey cooool bike to i agree best colour, though i am toying with the idea of removing the light coloured transfer on the front of the fairing so it is just red and black. not certain yet

take care

Don't wanna be nosey, but what, where is squires ?

Ignore if it's some sort of weird place where men in tight leather with snooker balls in their mouths meet up......

well there is that wooly , but I am sure there will be that at every meet,

Squires café is similar to Devils Bridge, a meeting place for bikers of all kinds , only benefit is there is a pub a bike parts shop, several burger vans and a large gathering most weekends

its located
Newthorpe Lane, Newthorpe, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS25 5LX just off the A1M

Never see any TRX's there mind when I have been
