Heelander's Stripdown

Post by Heelander » Sat Mar 15, 2014 9:52 am

Well I decided to do something with my bike at last - strip it right down, get it cleaned up and then rebuild it. Thing is I've noticed some of my rear subframe is already missing!!! Might just have to be some sort of cafe racer.... This is new ground for me (never taken a wheel off until now) so should be interesting - there may be some daft questions asked by myself over next few weeks and months so you have been warned (please be patient!)...

I also got a price for getting the wheel rims polished and hub and spoke painted colour of my choice (£250 for the pair - is that reasonable?).

My improvised Abba stand...

Erk, point of no return...

Is this Skybones old bike ?. If so I owned it before Skybone and I bought it of meensy, so if you view meensys profile you can view a bit of the bikes history.

HA HA! Took me about 10 minutes looking at meensy's white streetfighter before the penny dropped! Number plate gave it away. I was looking for blue bike! So I take it dixonj returned it to original (or as near as he could) then skybone bought it, then myself.

I'd have been delighted to have meensy's version. Ironic!

Bought it looking pretty standard, all I done was sort out the front end and make the graphics.
