Re: I want my TRX to go faster
Was just sat on mine in my lean to with a cuppa thinking what am I talking about selling it for?
Sometimes the lure of another 30-40hp is tempting but I reckon I can go a lot faster yet with just 90.

Re: I want my TRX to go faster
So true.
I went for a solo run up and down one of my local twisty hills called springbrook on sunday.
I Passed by a few much newer and more powerful bikes.
On the way back down, I caught sight of some Il4s and a late model duke in my mirrors.
Kept them behind me till the the bottom of the hill

I WOULD RATHER WEAR OUT THAN RUST

Re: I want my TRX to go faster
I remember blasting everyone down the straight at Lakeside on my R1, then being passed in the Carousel (turn 1-2 ) by a Monster 900. The TRX is a bike that displays what you're really made of in terms of rider ability and understanding of bike set-up.
(Unless of course your mates are equally skilled and on Gixers & R-sixers; then they might put shi!t on you a bit - but underneath, they really do respect what you're about)

yep, It is a (on average) a 15year old bike with 15 year old suspension! As I would say "it is what it is"Tarwetijger wrote:Hey now stop it guys! This is still a TRX fan forum, not a TRX bash forum!![]()

I don't think anyone is bashing the TRX - just commenting that there are alternatives (which could be / would be a better alternative to spending big on a TRX).Rod.s wrote:yep, It is a (on average) a 15year old bike with 15 year old suspension! FWIW, anyone can go fast in a straight line but the TRX is one of the quickest (non 2T) bikes I have ever ridden in terms of track corner speed.

Re: I want my TRX to go faster
Been out a couple of times round the Trough of Bowland with the boys on their Tuono's, Duc Streetfighter, me on the TRX. Had no trouble whatsoever keeping pace, even beating it in places. They were shaking their heads when they saw it ala' butchered into a Mille' and 5 colours but after the first stop they were all sniffing round it. Spot on for B road blitzing.

Correct, I started this thread to ask how much it would cost to make my TRX faster. Deffo not bashing the bike, its a great bike, it just needs a little tweakingl.

To put the forks in your TRX you mean?stevepeanut wrote:I quite fancy a YZF 750
I've had a YZF750. It's more bulky than a TRX.
Edit: oh and definitly more pressure on the wrist because of the sportier riding position.

Just quite fancy one to ride, but if the position is bad, then its no good for me.Tarwetijger wrote:To put the forks in your TRX you mean?stevepeanut wrote:I quite fancy a YZF 750![]()

Re: I want my TRX to go faster
Well you can alter the position of course, with raised clipons or fitting a steering bar.
But originally it will not be a improvement compared to the TRX.
FYI, I fitted YZF forks on my TRX with raised clipons from LSL. The position is now even slightly higher than original. Love it!
