UPDATE :

Alex and i spent most of yesterday boozing and eating =D> , but before we got stuck into the XXXX and his missus great eats =D> =D> , we tried to finalise the black TRX.

I put the top back on the motor, filled it with oil, new filter and then coolant [-o< . . . . .massive leakage from the top of the cover where i had put a new o-ring on the coolant pipe that sits in the top of the head #-o .
everything off again and armed with the correct sealant, i reinstalled the pipe, remounted everything.

we left it there for the night .

so morning rolls around, and started her up [-o< . . . . .massive oil leak from the rear of the cam cover #-o #-o

take it all off again, use the new cam cover gasket and aformentioned sealant.
bake for 1 hour in a moderate garage [-o<

take three and we have success :D :D

Good to see the finished machine...refinishing the fairing,.. front fender,..tank and decals,..rear cowl and decals, ..hugger and frame. The tank was in really good condition and with the carb kit already fitted, she fired up instantly..big smiles, and another round of wild turkey. =D>

so alex and i went for a run on saturday.
usual loop up springbrook, over the advancetown racetrack pacing a bloke in an XF ute ;), then up beechmont and over illinbah to canungra for coffee.
i took miss blackie for her first 'twisty and quick' ride.
1) i need to give the 60 profile tyre the flick #-o . . . .uggh !
2) FZR discs dont work as well as TRX :( . . . maybe its the extra meat and lack of holes (4.5 mm and slots).
3) 17/39 isnt as i remember  . . . 16 on the front or 42 on the back soon as.
4) she dont blow terrible smoke =D> . . . fact is alex said she dont blow smoke at all, but not as much mid range as red rex . . . needs more revs.
5) suspension setup seems good enough and ergos same as red rex.

all in all, its on the right track =D>

cheers
