Re: Aargh - is it knackered??
or maybe he is just an idiot and didn't learn from his first mistake???
And to make it worse maybe he has done a botch job to push it out the door???
As they say in the classics, would you buy a used car from this man.
Who ever you take it to for peace of mind you can make them aware of the problem a number of people have come across with having the cam caps over tightened.
Supply them with the work shop manual or write down the clearance specs and torque settings for the caps. Show them your on the money when it comes to this and more than likely they will appreciate this bit of homework and put a bit more TLC into your TRX.

No Neil, I wouldn't!Overlord Neil wrote:Mav, would you take the bike back to the same guy again? Now I'm in the same area, mine is running fine but will probably need doing soon (just coming up to 40,000). My logic being that he now knows how badly you can get it wrong so won't have the apprentice do the job and make sure its done right.
Sounds like its pretty easy to get wrong if you don't know exactly what you are doing, every chance a.n.other spanner man could make the the same mistake, atleast this guy sounds like gives a damn.

Aye, ideally, but it's currently being stripped for wheels, suspension, brake calipers etc. I could throw it back together and bring it down if you're around this weekend?Mincehead wrote:So, do you need the bike `listened to`?

Cheers MH. Took it for a thrash down to Billys On The Road, down the A29 today. All ran well, I let it get up to temp and checked the fan kicked in, which it did. I'm not messing with it anymore, just going to enjoy riding it,
