Re: Hardtail TRX project
Thanks Mincehead, had a look at Funny Machines bike. Thats the most radical Trx I've seen yet, some good ideas, those forward controls may be useful. The frame looks longer than a standard one, going to try and keep mine the same wheel base. About having it loud, has anyone heard stubby straight through pipes with maybe a bit of baffling?

Looks like he tried to drown it and put us out of our misery, but the creek wasn't anywhere near deep enough: linky.Mincehead wrote:Go for it Magoo, look at a member `funny machine`s take on a TRX. Go to the members list, click on his name and then search his posts

Re: Hardtail TRX project
Magoo - do your own thing mate, it's your bike & if you want to make it in your own vision fair play. If we all viewed motorcycles through the same goggles we would all ride Hondas wouldn't we?
Whilst most on here are a decent bunch, there are the usual narrow minded group who actually think that the TRX is the pinnacle of modern engineering (it isn't) they should ride some other machines & realise it fills a slot rather than setting any benchmarks. I've said many times in the past that the TRX is a bike screaming for modification/improvement - i applaud you for doing more than the usual blue spot/YZF rear conversion that turns owners into overnight experts
I'll look forward to photo's of your progress

I don't know why you'd want to hardtail anything, let alone a TRX...
Looking forward to you project still

Cheers for the support, going go away, do some chopping, welding and building and when I have something interesting to show I'll be back.

Re: Hardtail TRX project
Any progress on the project yet?
Show us some pics
I used a Roadstar for my Bobber project, which is not really finished yet, as it is work in progress and I'm riding it every now and then.
The same will eventually happen with the TRX, as I like the bike but not the riding position.
Who knows what it'll be in a years time
Naaaaa...
Not that radical, probably still a Cafe Racer, but could be a nakes version of it.
