How much will it cost ?
Looking at buying a 99 model. Seller says might need baffles for the exhaust to pass roadworthy.
Is it possible to have drop in DB killers made to fit the exhaust. I do not know what brand they are.
Also are these disks anygood
Thanks,
Broady

About DB killers: a good mechanic can make you some.
I know a (dutch) store that has some universal sizes made up and they're very reasonable priced:

You can find std cans for a song that come up quite often on e bay and gumtree. There are some going at present on Gumtree. If you ever sell the bike again put those back on , I'm sure you'll make dollars on your aftermarket cans as a bonus
have a look there is a pair of wheels local too with discs that may do the job. Take the discs and I sell the wheels again

Thanks for the advice/tips.
After a bit of research I see you can buy universal DB killers for the
diameter of the silencer. They are pretty cheap to.
Do the DB killers actually reduce the noise by much ?
or am I better off going with Cobba's suggestion and trying to get some
standard cans ?

Re: How much will it cost ?
up to you broady .
std cans are approx 6kg each and are real quiet.
aftermarkets tend to weigh a lot less and can liberate the breathing of a trx . add in a K&N and you may notice some more sting in her tail
IMHO of course.
cheers

Re: How much will it cost ?
once you got it registered you just take the std cans off again and run the aftermaket cans that breathe once again.. there only there to serve a purpose to getting it registered and if ever you sell the bike you'll benifit as a stock motorcycle will always gather more resale

Thanks Fung & Cobba. Yeah it's only to get the bike through roadworthy. I was just curious if anybody else had used the db killers to pass
rego and if they actually make much of a difference in DB reduction. I have read that the noise reduction they give is questionable.
I have no intention of taking the cans off. Was just weighing up the quickest and cheapest option to pass inspection.

G'day Broady,
Do you know the diameter of baffles you need. I have a few in the shed you are welcome to if they will do the trick for you.
I have no need for them, don't believe in making the TRX quiet.

It must be true, I read it on the internet.
