Price for a decent condition fairing and bracket?

Post by Kayla » Fri Sep 19, 2008 1:18 pm

I thought I'd put this in here as it's a question about something I'd like to put up for sale, but isn't actually for sale yet and I didn't want to clog up the 'for sale' bit.

Right, now, I have no further need for the standard fairing and bracket off my bike. The bike is more fun to ride since I took them off :D

So, that all brings me to my question. How much is a standard fairing and bracket in excellent condition worth? I didn't really want to post up an ad asking for 'offers' as I think that's a bit crap.

It really depends on what someone is prepared to pay.

I sold a mint fairing (only done about 300 miles) for about £110 IIRC but have seen them go for between £50 and an advertised £180.

They are over £300 new from Yamaha.

That said, white is not a common colour so you may have problems selling it. Or the flip side of that is true thatsomeone may be desparate and pay whatever you want.

Fairing bracket - I'd say £40 posted (which is a bit more that I sold mine for)

Whoever buys that one on ebay at the mo would probably be very interested! (Steve-d posted the link in his introduction thread I think).

Due to the credit crunch, the bottoms fell out the fairing and bracket market recently....

....probably only worth about £15 for the both, posted....

....there's a cheque on its way in the post to you!

Ha ha, thanks :D I'll probably hang on to it for now, just in case.
