I just didn't like the half fairing look and thought it needed a bellypan to balance the looks. In my time, I've owned a short belly pan, mid length belly pan, a Harris belly pan and used a chopped down R6 belly pan.
But now, I can't bring myself to put it back on again - I think my bike looks way better without one.
What say you?
Keeps some of the winter / rainy summer shite off the engine. Can't be a bad thing. And even my crap powerbronze one looks OK - at least until I melted it.

i disagree, the motor still gets dirty, its just behind it so its harder to clean. i'd rather clean the exposed motor.
sorry for the double post.

dbanbery, I agree with you. Difficult enough to clean as is...How do you clean behind the belly pan

Or do you that have one just clean on the top!?

See the "No belly pan" is catching up.

not realy a good arguement. i ddi a oil change and gave it a quick clean last night. it only takes 4 screws to pull it off and put it back on. its not hard, only about 1 min. clean behind it and then refit it.

I have a red/black TRX, just like the one above and after reading this forum I took off my shabby looking belly pan. I so prefer it without. I de-greased the lower half of the engine and polished the visable pipes. It looks loads better.
Vote no belly pan.

Definately think they balance the looks off nicely

The bikes look top heavy without them on imho.

			Kev,
What brand is your belly pan?
I bought my TRX second hand and the belly pan looks the same as yours.
I agree with you on the looks, much prefer mine with it on.
Also only 4 screws and its off.
Easy to keep the motor clean.
Vote for on.

Then mine is not the same then.
Mine is fiberglass and the vent on the right hand side on mine is round .(As you sit on the bike)
My bike was sold new by Inskip in Newcastle NSW in 2001.
Oh well, back to the drawing board, just another mysterey to solve.
One day I might come across another TRX with the same belly pan, and find out what make it is.
Still reckon the bike looks better with it on.

I think they finish off the look, give it the edge. I say yes but do agree that it depends on how the rest of the bike looks. Mine deffinatly looks better with the pan on.
Jay.

For those with belly pans, how does your brackets look? I'm busy with a little project. (Mainly because I'm bored at night after work)
Found n nice use for n belly pan.

Will show it once it is done.
But for now, I need to know bit more about the brackets.

4 brackets, which are threaded, although on mine 1 wasn't and I had to tap it out ( short pyramid belly pan )

Mmmm!........I have thought long and hard about this and tried a BP on mine but couldn't get used to the look, much prefer the naked look...!!
Bp's seem to screw up the lines of the bike.
